Georgia · State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers · Rule 240-4-.04(4)

Georgia requires a log of every pedicure equipment cleaning. Log it in three taps.

Under Rule 240-4-.04(4), every sink, bowl, basin, pipe-less and whirlpool spa is cleaned after each client and at the end of each day, and the dates and times of every cleaning go in a log kept in the pedicure area. Techs log at the chair. ReadyPedi prints the Board's pedicure log, SOS form 28.

Instructions

The Georgia questions we're asked most.

  1. Does a basin or bowl without jets need a log?

Yes. The rule covers all pedicure equipment that holds water: sinks, bowls, basins, pipe-less and whirlpool spas. Every one is cleaned after each client and at the end of the day, and every cleaning is logged.

  2. Is the weekly cleaning required?

The rule says should: once a week, after the end-of-day steps, a bleach run through the system. It is the one step in the section written as a recommendation. The form has an End of Week column, and a shop that does it logs it there; ReadyPedi shows it as a reminder, not a failed check.

  3. How long do I keep the log?

The rule names no period. It says the log is kept in the pedicure area and shown on request to a consumer or a Board inspector. ReadyPedi keeps two years of history, and Inspection mode opens the last ninety days.

  4. Does the log have to be paper, in the pedicure area?

The rule says a record or log book kept in the pedicure area, and says nothing about paper or electronic. A tablet by the chairs holds the log, and ReadyPedi prints SOS form 28 for the pedicure area whenever you want a paper copy.

  5. Why is the date printed dd/mm/yy?

Because the form's Date column says so. ReadyPedi follows the form's own label, so October 14, 2026 prints as 14/10/26.

  6. Is ReadyPedi part of the Board?

No. ReadyPedi is an independent product, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers. It prints the Board's own SOS form 28 from your log.
